Similar to non-internet based network marketers, those who are online seek to earn commissions on products sold, as well as on the number of people they recruit. Interestingly enough, a network marketer may also be as interested in recruiting websites, or virtual “marketers” as they are actual individuals. With the advent of pay-per-click advertising, these websites can make money for the distributors around the clock. In some instances, a network marketer may be so interested in gaining access to other websites, or material produced by the recruit, they will allow a person to join their network for free.
Because search engine ranking is crucial, network marketers link to websites of people they recruit, as a means of increasing the “popularity” of their pages. Once again, the driving principle is to have a large numbers of mainly untrained sales people to increase coverage. if these people have websites of their own, this is more than an added benefit.
Perhaps it can be said that pay-per-click campaigns may be seen as a virtual form of putting your own website to work as virtual network marketer. An interesting trend is evolving here that combines network marketing with virtual products, commission based campaigns, and database driven web templates. Basically, the main website is constructed in such a way that text files are automatically turned into the code necessary to produce an individual web page. This is usually accomplished using joomla templates, mambo, and several other web based publishing platforms.
The site is then search engine optimized, and set up to allow people to post articles, or other forms of content on their servers. These pages, in turn, are made available to pay-per-click advertisers. Both the author of the content and the owner of the main server earn a commission each time someone clicks on the advertisements, or purchases a product on the manufacturers website.
Without a question, a combination of network marketing and the internet can lead to many different strategies for successfully selling all kinds of products. One of the hottest new trends in the creation and delivery of virtual content utilizes network marketing and internet sales strategies. In many instances, the actual “sales person” may be the website that hosts the commission based ads and ranks best in the search engines.
